I can’t seem to fathom how people can’t bite their tongues when they’ve got nothing good to say. After our dance training, my crewmates and I were chit-chatting by the SDA lobby, when another crew who joined Remix Dance Competition passed by behind us. Apparently they think the other crew, who who won second should’ve been the ones in our spot for first. Ugh. I mean, seriously? Are we all still in high-school? Why is it that when people lose at something, there has to be comments how, “It’s so unfair”, “We should’ve won, not them,” the classic “there must have been some form of cheating” yadayadayada. I mean I totally know we can’t please everyone, but a little respect please. We’ve been working our asses off for months for this. Training 4-5 times a week for three hours, even more. Jogging from ground floor up ‘til 15th and back again, ab work-outs, hand stands…it’s no joke. We’re doing all this for the love of dancing, and because we wanna share God’s blessing. Call me cheesy, whatevs. It’s true. I’ve gathered these people together, and each day we’ve been growing as a family. It’s just all frustrating. Being the crew’s leader, it pains me to hear shit like that. I act like I don’t get all affected, all to stay strong for my fam, but in all honesty, its affecting me.
Alright. That’s done. Onto more positive things…
So I wanna put down things that I am grateful for at this time in my life. I’m grateful for…
-having lived today. The chance to wake and get up from bed and live for another day.
-having eaten Tostitos Tortilla Chips in Restaurant Style. It’s the perfect tortillas. Not too salty, not too plain. I love it without the salsa. Yummmm!
-my family. We may not get along always (insert my brother Cody here), but we love each other. And we’re together through whatever life throws our way. I miss my lolos and lola, but I know I got them watching over us. Sentimental moments, kicking in. Moving onnn:P
-my friends. You people are amazing. My trusted handful of pals are the best. They keep me sane (or insane).
-being part of the Status Team. Starting off as an intern for the mag that month of March was the best part of it all. I was starting another chapter of my life. Being part of a new circle, getting to meet the most awesome individuals. Each day was a new learning experience. Getting hired as an Editorial Asst. after my internship was the best surprise. Since then, I’ve been hustlin’ all I can. Of course, I have had my hits and misses, but I’m still tryna do all I can and get better at what I do.
-having the bestest boyfriend ever. I know all girlfriend’s would say that their bf’s are the bombdiggitys, but let me brag about mine. He’s put up with all my crazy antics since November of ‘04. He’s my personal driver. He never complains, no matter how far he has to drive. haha. He loves me, unconditionally. Treats me like a princess (which is all a girl could want). He’s my bestfriend. We go to the movies every week, which I constantly look forward to. We both love eating. It’s something we are both good at;P He makes me laugh. No matter how corny his jokes are. And in those instances, I forget all my worries, all my problems, and everything’s perfect. He’s just…amazing:)
There are still so many things to be grateful for. I’ll put it down as the days progress;)
How about you guys? What are the things YOU‘re grateful for? We always gotta remember, it’s as important to say thanks as we ask for things that we want.
